It's almost the end…and the beginning

All kidding about the impending apocalypse and Mayan calendars aside, it is (today) the end of 2011, and nearly the beginning of 2012.  2011 has been a year of learning, growth and examination for me. I've had to ask myself tough questions about what I want and what I need, and to make some decisions and do some planning.  I've spent a lot of time analyzing and researching and thinking about form versus function, and fluff versus substance, and about meaning, and about control, or lack thereof.  All that to say, I am hoping that 2012 will be a good year, a healthy, prosperous, joyful year.  But I also know that it will be one in which my likes-to-be-in-control self will struggle at least some of the time.

Personal Effects will be out in the fall. I'm not able to announce the exact launch day yet, but I should be able to soon.  I can hardly wait to share it with new readers, and I anxiously and eagerly anticipate each step toward that day – first pass pages, ARCs, sharing my cover, etc.

Until then, I will continue to work on my next book, cheer on my fellow Apocalypsies as each of their books head out into the world, read as much as I can, and try to share more of those good and trying moments here with you. I've also joined tumblr* in an effort to spur more sharing of moments of amusement, inspiration and reflection. I hope that by sharing those moments on tumblr, and continuing to share daily thoughts on twitter, I will get used to sharing more of myself and post more often here, too.

I hope your 2011 is closing well, and that your 2012 is healthy, prosperous, and joyful, and challenging in only the best of ways. See you in 2012!
